 Good phone, but only lasted 10 months August 25, 2010

The phone has a lot of features. Cool looking, cool touching screen, cool qwerty keyboard when you hold it horizontally, good voice calling features, easy to use, good quality calls. We love this phone when we just got it. We could install flash games on it.
HOWEVER, after 10 months of smoothly working, the screen started to crack for no reason. The cracks would spread over time until the screen was totally black (probably 2days-1week). My husband also had the same phone. Mine started to break first, and I thought maybe my phone just one in a million that broke. Then a month later, my husband's one broke too. It is too much of a coincidence. We were quite careful with it, we have cover on it, rarely dropped it.... I still do not know why it cracked.
So if you like to change your phone every year, it might be fun to try this one out, it can rival iphone anytime (not as chunky, camera with higher pixel etc.). For me, it is not good enough because it doesnt last for the 2yr service i have to stick with.

I'm on my 5th phone this year. The problems I've had have been with the touch screen on one, the camera on the the second, the blue tooth on the third and the memory card door was broken on the 4th. Verizon just keeps giving me their remanufactured junk and will not allow me to switch to another model. So, guess what, when my contact is done next August, we are moving to ATT or one of the other companies. Oh yeah, they do not respond to your emails either !!!

This phone is no iphone but it is great for those of us who can't afford an iphone but still want something cool. The touchscreen is nice and responsive. Overall good choice.

I have had the LG Dare for almost 2 years now and I have virtually no complaints. I have never needed to replace it and I intend to keep it for awhile longer, seeing as technologically it's still up there with newer phones.
Call quality is good, but who uses phones for just calls anymore? Battery life is pretty good, compared to past phones I've had. This phone is also the perfect size. The screen is large enough to text efficiently with little scrolling and to perform simple internet functions, but the phone is not so large that it is bulky. It is small enough that it comfortably slides in and out of my pocket.
The touch screen is fantastic and the functions are very intuitive. The "favorites" function is especially useful. I keep 9 of my most called friends under the favorites button so that I can reach them very quickly without hassle. You can even add a picture for each person and press their face to call them. Another useful feature is being able to drag icons right to your "desktop." For example, I commonly use a calculator and calendar, so I set them up so that they are accessible right from the home screen.
The quality of the camera is great, especially for a phone. The pictures it takes are just as good as my boyfriend's digital camera.
When texting, you have the option of using the traditional number pad or the QWERTY key pad. I have no problems with the QWERTY. There was a small initial learning curve (although I'd never had an on-phone QWERTY before) but I quickly was able to type out full text messages with few errors. There is also an option to use the touch screen to draw letters with your finger instead of normal typing, and although it's a cool feature I don't know why anyone would use it.
I also use my phone to check e-mail, Facebook, etc. The screen is a bit small for extensive internet browsing, but works perfectly fine for sites that are already set up for mobile devices (like Facebook). The internet can also be a bit slow at times, but nothing unreasonable.
The complaints I do have are that on occasion it has "unlocked" and dialed someone from my pocket. This is the downside to the unlock button being located on the touch screen. On occasion it also works a bit slowly, taking a moment to respond to something I press. Neither of these issues have been a huge problem. One problem with the camera is that the shutter time is very slow and I've gotten a lot of blurry images. But like I said, the picture quality is very good when you hold the phone still until it takes the picture.
Overall, I think this is a great phone and a perfectly reasonable alternative to more expensive smart phones.

I've had the LG Dare for nearly a 1 1/2 years now, and it still seems like it's brand new and right up there with the new phones! It has an amazing camera - better than my old digital camera. The videos are very nice too, but you can't send videos in the highest resolution.
At first, the QWERTY keyboard took some getting used to..but with practice, I have now mastered texting and constantly text all my friends. The visual keyboard and a regular keyboard are hardly different! Everything is very easy-to-navigate and user-friendly. I have yet to try out the mp3 player program..
